Santa Ynez River

Check my stride out.
"Can I get back to running please?"

We found a way to escape the gloom in santa barbara, the Santa Ynez River. We found sunshine & a swimming hole. Perfect start to our day.

Productive Weekend

I love clearing out unused, unloved, & not needed items. So as I was looking around our house and shed I realized that we are holding onto many items that are not serving any function anymore. The kids have outgrown many useful items, items that were once used multiple times a day. It's crazy how in as little as 4 years you can acquire such important items but now all they are doing is bogging down our very limited space. So I asked Eric how he would feel about having a sidewalk sale (we don't have a garage so I made up a new term). We had a lot to do in a short amount of time. I busted my butt collecting, cleaning, and pricing every item. I set the alarm for 4:30 on Saturday morning. I was one of the few people who welcomed early birds. We advertised for a start of 7am, I wanted to start early in hopes that we would finish early, but that didn't happen.

All in all the sale went well but I didn't sell one of the HUGE pieces of furniture that I was hoping to sell. Now what? I guess another round on craigslist. Saturday was taken by the sidewalk sale, I was pooped out that night. Sunday was a slower day but none the less we worked very hard all day in the yard and shed. We harvested all our carrots, which later turned into delicious juice and a first harvest on the zucchini . We planted all new carrots, beets, basil & lettuce. After the gardening we went to the shed, we probably overhaul this 4 times a year. I must say I've never seen this shed look so clean and organized.
A weekend like that feels so good but it sure is exhausting.

Below are photos taken at the Memorial Weekend I Mardonnari street painters who transform the Mission Plaza into an art zone. It's truly a must to experience.
