Lucky Lady

I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful friends. We meet at a
wine tasting room called Municipal Wine located in the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. This place was funky and retro. The backdrop from behind the tasting area was all old metal filing cabinets, they were stacked in randomness and their colors were a variety of soft blues, greens, yellows and browns. After MW we went to dinner at Zaytoon, a delicious Mediterranean restaurant. The outdoor dining area was huge, lots of large round tables with a lovely fire burning In the center. A belly dancer was walking around providing fun entertainment, I even got to try out my belly dancing skills, not as easy as it looks. From there we said our goodbyes and all parted ways.
Thank you ladies, you made my birthday extra special.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Ruby's Quilt

I love this quilt, the variations of purple are so perfect with the middle piece. Speaking of the middle piece of fabric, Eric brought that back for me from Korea, what lovely taste honey. Your daughter and I love it so much.

Together at last

Donnell and I had a wonderful day together. I can hardly remember the last sister date that we had, this one is sure to be engraved in my memory forever. It all started with the fun Mini Cooper that we drove through the wine country of Santa Barbara County. As we were driving to our first destination, Melville Winery, the 101 freeway was closed. We decided that our detour would take us through the Wine Ghetto of Lompoc, Palmina is a favorite of mine and they focus on beautiful and unique Italian varietals.

Our reason for going out to the wine country other than celebrating my sister's birthday was to attend the Melville Winery Pick-up party. A fancy gig that had 3 seperate tastings of 6 flights. Or something like that. We sampled some delicious rare to come by oldies, we sampled the current small release to the club members and last but not lease was the current pouring sample.

Not only was the wine amazing, especially the Carrie's blend. The food was to die for. Chantrelle mushroom, manchego cheese quesadillas, I think I was following the caterer around just so that I can keep eating them or was it that she kept finding Donnell and I b/c we loved them so much. Anyway. ......







The perfect evening sunlight for the perfect daytime activity. Happy Birthday Sis, I love you.
